Dogs for Adoption or Sponsorship

We are a NEVER KILL rescue with up to 204 dog- beds, always running at or near capacity. We are NOT a "network" or a "virtual" rescue. We take in any surrender regardless of pedigree, medical or behavioral problems, illness or injury. We pay rent for our kennel, utilities, 200 lbs. of dog food per day, custodial employee wages, vet bills for 200 dogs and most importantly provide a safe, warm, environment for life, if necessary.

ADOPTED! Rainey is full of gloss, love and fluff. He was abandoned for reasons unknown. Perfect active, loving family dog.

My name is Sweet Peaches and I am about 6 years old. I am quite shy when I first meet you. I do not want to depress you with my life story but I will tell you a little bit about it. I grew up in a very rich area in Los Angeles called Bel Air. My previous owners bought me and my brother (we were from the same litter) from an expensive breeder. My neighbors were the Reagans (yes, the former President of the United States) and lots of celebrities. The difference is, well, I lived in a garage for 5 years with my brother. My parents had housekeepers that would come in and feed us. I wish they would have spent more time with us but they were busy doing other things. After they decided they could no longer care for us (I mean we were so much trouble to them living in the garage), they decided to dump us. Shortly after we were dumped at Chihuahua Rescue, I suffered a huge loss...my devoted brother died from heart failure. But don't worry, I never dwell on the past and am only looking forward to the future. That is why I am hoping somebody who is reading this will fall in love with me and let me give lots of unconditional love. If you hold me, you will know that I mean business. If you live in the Los Angeles area and want to adopt me, please fill out an application. Make sure you specify the Peaches that is not the puppy because there are two Peaches. I am also here on adoption day so if you just want to visit to say 'hi' I would love that. By the way, I am very healthy and act like a puppy when I am loved. I want to remind everybody that Chihuahuas can live long lives. I have made friends here who are 20 years old.

Black and white Mallory and tan Charlie are buddies that were abandoned together. Both terrified and confused, they need lots of love and pateience to restore them to the happy, secure dogs they should be.

After 2 weeks of restorative therapy at Chihuahua Rescue, Checkers, like many other dogs, responds to love and care and is emerging from his emotional shell. Checkers is a great dog and ready to fit in as an addition to a happy family.
